Initial Eligibility


Qualifying For Initial Eligibility - Journeymen

Effective August 1st, 2002

As A Result Of Working 500 Hours, Without A 12 Month Gap In Covered Work, You Will Become A PIBF Participant And Qualify For Benefits.

You Become Eligible For Benefits On The First Day Of The Month In Which You Complete The 500th Hour Of Covered Work  In Which The Contributing Employer Is Obligated To Make PIBF Contributions.

Your Coverage Is Automatically Extended As You Continue To Do Covered Work. Each 120 Hours Of Employment Provides One Month Of Additional Coverage.

You Become Eligible For Benefits On The First Day Of The Month In Which You Complete The 800th Hour Of Covered Work  In Which The Contributing Employer Is Obligated To Make PIBF Contributions.
