01 Apr 09 THE PIPELINE INDUSTRY BENEFIT FUND

We are pleased to announce that the new Pipeline Industry Benefit Fund web site went on line February 1, 2009. You can log on to our web site at www.pibf.org. The web site is totally redesigned with new features and an improved navigation system. The PIBF staff and developers have incorporated the most requested information into the web site and we hope you find the features useful. For the first time, forms may be “filled out” online for your convenience then mailed or faxed to the Fund office.  In order to view the members LOGIN section, you must enter your birth date and your PIBF ID number. Your PIBF ID number is found on your eligibility cards for Blue Cross, CVS, or the DNOA dental program. The number starts with an 8. In the very near future, you will have another space on the members log-in to enter your Local Union ID number to access your personal information.

The staff and developers will be adding new features such as the Summary Plan Description Booklet (SPD) online, your personal pension calculator and a special log-in for medical providers to verify your coverage and dependents 24 hours a day. With any new system, some members may have a problem logging in to the web site or may not be able to see personal data. You can help us perfect our new web site by reporting any discrepancies or log-in problems to our IT department (918-280-4800).

THE TRUSTEES APPROVED THE HEALTH REIMBURSEMENT ACCOUNT (HRA) PROGRAM FOR 2009

The Trustees approved the continuation of the HRA plan for 2009. Everyone was recently sent a letter describing the benefit and two claim forms to submit bills for reimbursement. Please be aware that medical bills incurred in 2008 that were not covered by the PIBF plan or any other health plan must be submitted by March 31, 2009, to be considered for payment under the HRA program. If you need additional forms, please call the Fund office or log onto www.pibf.org and print the form.
